Exercise 3 – Feel your heart beat

Now that you should be able to hear the pulse in a quiet place, you may want to try to feel the puls rather then hear it.

First try it again in quiet places. The more you try the more you will get confident and you can start to feel the pulse in more noisy condition.

The more you try it in loud and stressful surroundings you might notice that can have a calming effect. Eventually you can try to use this. If you had some stress like  running on a bus or struggling with somebody, try to lean back and listen to your pulse until it comes down. That might also calm down your mind and ‚center‘ you again.  I even have the feeling that you can bring down the puls deliberately.

It might be difficult to prove this scientifically, but I’m pretty sure if you believe it, it does help.
